Screening of Buster Keaton's "The Goat" and "Seven Chances" with Live Organ Accompaniment

Event Details

Join Stoneham CAN as we celebrate one of our town’s most interesting features - the historic Wurlitzer organ at Town Hall.

On Saturday March 8th, join Stoneham CAN for a screening of the groundbreaking Buster Keaton comedy, “Seven Chances”. The film, which turns 100 this year, will be screened with amazing accompaniment on the organ from acclaimed musician Jeff Rapsis. Hailing from New Hampshire, Jeff is a composer, writer and educator who specializes in creating live musical scores for silent film screenings. In addition to the full length film, which runs approximately an hour, we’ll be screening "The Goat", a shorter film at the beginning of the performance for younger viewers and listeners.

Be sure to join us for an event that you simply won’t see anywhere else - after all, it’s the only pipe organ in a town hall anywhere in the country!

Stoneham CAN…offer you this unique and fascinating opportunity to explore this important film and instrument right in our hometown.

Tickets are free for kids age 12 and under. Please reserve a free ticket for them.

This event is generously supported by the Stoneham Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
